Artistry Hydra-V Cleanser & Gel Review

Are you ready for some light winter hydration?

Having combination to oily skin, I find it quite hard to find a winter moisturizer that isn't too heavy. It seems like every product meant for winter is heavy and just too overwhelming for my skin type. So I was really excited to try the Artistry Hydra-V range, which is specifically meant for oily to combination skin (but they also have a line for dry to normal skin).

Hydra-V Fresh Foaming Cleanser

I love cleansing my face with a product like this one. It doesn't foam up too much, it's very gentle and what I love most, it doesn't irritate my eyes. Instead, it's really fresh, leaves my skin feeling soft and subtle, and feels gentle on my skin. I was also pleasantly surprised by the price, as Artistry is quite an expensive brand, but this cleanser is priced reasonably at about 23€ on the Artistry website.

Hydra-V Refreshing Gel

I love skincare targeted to oily/combination skin, but they often include a mattifying effect, which I'm not a huge fan of. I much prefer something like this light hydrating gel. Again, very gentle, non-irritating, fresh and soothing, a product that would work, in my opinion, for problematic skin as well. I really enjoy using it both in the morning as well as nighttime, and I've noticed my skin is less oily throughout the day and when I wake up. This really helps keep my oily skin at bay and doesn't make my skin feel tight or uncomfortable. It's a bit more expensive at about 41€ - maybe something to wish for under your Christmas tree? Available here.

If you're looking for a nice moisturizer that will work any time of the year, I'd definitely recommend the gel, and the cleanser is lovely (even for use on my eyes, and I wear contacts). Thumbs up from me.
As a side note, I'm thinking about doing Blogmas. Would you like to see a new post every day in December?

Zimsko razvajanje z L'Occitane

For a change, a post in Slovenian :) Stay tuned for more English posts coming your way soon <3

Zimsko razvajanje?

V zimskem času obožujem vonj ognja v kaminu, dišeče svečke in razvajanje vseh svojih čutov.

Moje roke pozimi postanejo zelo suhe, verjetno zaradi kombinacije ogrevanja in mrazu. Zanje bo letos poskrbela krema L'Occitane Pamplemousse-Rhubarbe z vonjem grevike in rabarbare.

Oriflame My Naked Truth EDT

Sometimes you find a real beauty gem, and when it's inexpensive as well, you really have the whole package!

I was sent a few fragrances by Oriflame, and I wanted to kick off the reviews with my favorite out of the bunch. This is My Naked Truth, a beautiful perfume I've been wearing for the past few weeks.

Let's start with the bottle, which is gorgeous. It's unique yet classic with its rectangular design and oval shapes. I love the simplicity, and it looks gorgeous on my vanity as well. The pink and clear bottle is perfect for this scent.

The perfume itself is soft, fresh and floral. I love it when floral perfumes aren't too heavy, and this one has a freshness I didn't expect. Honestly, I pictured it as a white floral scent, very heavy and similar to Fracas. Nope, nothing like that at all. Instead, My Naked Truth is fresh from the start, with bergamot, litchi and apple blossom. The middle notes have apricot, rose and osmanthus, and the base notes are heavier sandalwood and cedar, rounded out with cotton flower. It has average sillage and longevity, which is OK for an EDT.

I love that this perfume is so unique, and it smells really expensive in my opinion. Definitely worth buying! Available on the Oriflame website for only 20€ for 50 ml! Grab it while it's on offer.

Paco Rabbane Olympea Gift Set

What a beauty!

I was so excited to receive this beautiful gift set from Fragrance Direct! I had a tester of Olympea and my boyfriend went gaga for it, so I knew it would eventually end up in my collection. Thank you to FD for sending it my way, I couldn't love it more than I do! <3 And now let's get into the review of this perfume...

Paco Rabanne Olympea EDP

This beautiful fragrance opens with fresh, citrus notes as well as jasmine and zesty ginger. It moves into vanilla and salt, which give the perfume that beautiful, rounded base and make it smell sweet and gourmand. Finally, it settles into base notes of sandalwood, cashmere wood and ambergris, which add a depth to the scent. It's a sweet vanilla white floral, not very unique, but not generic either.

A perfect perfume for a gift, because I'm sure everyone will love it. I'd also like to add it's a total compliment getter, I never get compliments on my fragrance but everyone loved this one! Especially guys :) And the lotion that comes in this beautiful gift set is the perfect way to make the fragrance last longer, as by itself, it has average sillage and longevity.

I'm sure any girl or woman would be thrilled to find this set under the Christmas tree, I know I would be! Definitely recommend as a holiday present - for you and your boyfriend, because he'll surely love it as well. Available on Fragrance Direct from 48€, this gift set in particular is 66,40€ and you get 50 ml of perfume.

Aussie Haircare Review

Aussie haircare came to Slovenia a while ago, and we're all obsessed!

I've received several things for review from them, but I also bought quite a bit myself. It's just such a nice, affordable haircare brand that actually gives great results - how could I resist? Today I wanted to do a review of some lines and products, as well as an overview of my thoughts on the brand.

Aussie Miracle Beach Waves

Trust me, I've tried a lot of texturizing sprays. For some reason, I keep coming back to this one. It really gives great texture and volume, making my hair the perfect amount of messy. It smells nice, but it's a little sticky, so don't use too much. A fun product for messy bedhead hair. The price is around 10€ I think.

Aussie Miracle Shine line

A good shampoo, mask & conditioner, but kind of average. Have to say I didn't notice any difference when it comes to shine, but it is a nice and light line which doesn't weigh down hair and is great for every day use. Prices for all shampoos and conditioners are around 6€, and the masks are around 9€.

Aussie Repair Miracle Shampoo & Conditioner

This is a heavier, more potent line that does help with damaged hair. I prefer the masks though, this duo is a bit too much for my hair, which is prone to getting greasy. If you have damaged and very dry hair though, you might really like it! Again, prices are about 6€ for each.

What should you buy from Aussie?

For me, the texturizing spray is a real winner, and I also love their 3 Minute Miracle Masks, they're just lovely! Definitely recommend those, you can even use them without conditioner and get amazing results. I've tried quite a few and they've all been lovely, my favorite is probably Deep Repair Reconstructor.

Have you tried Aussie haircare? What do you think of it?

Oriflame Milk & Honey Collection Review

I am a huge fan of honey scents!

When I found this collection in my goodie bag from BBMULJ, I was over-the-top excited. Look at all the goodies! I've been trying them out for a while and I thought I'd give you my opinions today. Let's see.

Milk & Honey Gold Creamy Soap

I don't generally use soap, but this product made me change my mind. It obviously smells divine, and it lathers up so nicely, leaving my hands moisturized. My favorite use for it, though, is using it to wash my makeup brushes. I think Sara from Passing Fancy mentioned she does this, and my mind was blown. This soap is now so tiny, and I need to get a new one. It's also a total bargain, 2.5€ for 75 g.
While this scent isn't pure honey to me (it's a little more powdery, soapy), I still adore it. This hand cream is nice, sinks in fast, you need a little bit, smells nice. Not revolutionary, but good if you don't have any special needs from your hand creams. They feel very silky after use. Around 4€ for 75 ml.

Milk & Honey Gold Moisturizing Shower Cream

7€ for 200 ml. A little expensive for shower gel, but I still like it! I wouldn't personally purchase it, because I like cheap & cheerful shower gels, but it is quite nice. Wish there was more product for the price. I'll still use it up, it smells lovely and lathers up well.

Milk & Honey Hand & Body Cream

This I love! Very thick & creamy, again with a lovely scent. Somehow, it manages to be really really thick, but light at the same time, which I love. Makes my hands/body feel fresh and clean! 10€ for 250 ml. Worth it, if you ask me.

Milk & Honey Sugar Scrub

Oh my gosh, I love this. The smells works, the product is great, very gentle with small particles, but still comfortable to use. 10€ for 200 ml, for me - totally worth it. This is the one product I would repurchase from the brand, it's just lovely!

All in all, a lovely line! This isn't a true honey scent, it's creamier and more powdery - definitely milky as well. A great line for Christmas gifts, and to treat yourself. My favorite products are the cream and scrub. I'd skip the shower gel, otherwise, recommend.

Destress, relax, get over it

Hello!

I have a two parter post for you today. The first part will be about two lovely products from Lily Flame, and the second will be a little more personal. Let's start with a review!

I was recently invited to the opening of a super cute Slovenian store, Babushka. Even though we left with a goodie bag, I couldn't resist picking up two things from Lily Flame.

I saw some candles in Babushka and made a beeline for them, obviously. Out of all the scents, I loved Powder Puff the most. What a unique, girly and pretty scent! It smells like baby powder and makeup I used to steal from my mom's closet. It's a love or hate scent, and you should smell it before buying (awesome excuse to go to Babushka, right?). The candle was around 11€, and I also picked up a Room Mist from the same brand in the scent Fairy Dust.

Another unusual scent, definitely powdery, but a little sweet and very comforting to me. It was the same price as the candle and I think it's a bargain because you get 100 ml of product. These kinds of scents comfort me and help me sleep better, and they've really helped me destress.

Time for part two... Why am I so stressed?

I've debated talking about this on my blog. I've debated even keeping my blog. I feel a huge disconnect, as I've mentioned before. I feel... inadequate.

I haven't spoken about my job a lot, which is really a shame. I'm a full time author, but I use a pen name (or 27). It's a job I've wanted since I was a kid, but everyone told me it was impossible. It's not, and dare I say it pays very well, too. :) Understandably, with producing one novel per month I'm really busy. My typing has gotten so fast I can hammer out 4000 words in an hour if I'm so inclined. My imagination is going to burst. I'm inspired. In that area of my life, I'm really, really happy.

Then comes the blogging. Something that had helped me tremendously when I was a teenager with no friends, no hopes. And now?

Makeup is stressful to me. The pressure to look pretty is too fucking much. To be perfect all the time, go to events and mingle, be a version of me I haven't been in years. I feel not worthy. I've started hoarding makeup because I've gotten so fat clothes won't fit, so I'll just buy lipstick instead. Why? I don't go anywhere, anyway.

My life is actually really, really damn lonely. Most days are spent working, 12+ hours a day. When I'm not working, I'm thinking about work. Need to write that, need to book that promotion, need to get that cover made. It's a stress factor I don't mind, I think it's fun. The stress is producing contect for NFR and being a match for all the new bloggers who are, I feel, so much better than me. So I've been quiet, haven't gone to events, just holed myself up and stuck my head in the sand.

I think I'll have to make some big changes in the new year. I need to take better care of myself, I need to sort my priorities and make time for my blogging as well. It needs to be a hobby again, not a stress factor. I need to get better.

My life isn't perfect, I'm definitely not perfect. And I feel like everyone's waiting for me to break. To just say, ha - knew she couldn't handle it. Well, I think I can. And I don't want to complain how shitty my life is while to someone else, I might be living the dream. I just need to get myself in order.

This has been a whole lot of nonsense and not a lot of help. I wanted to finish by asking you to understand. I'm a very apologetic person. Leave me a mean comment and I'll put on a brave face, then cry about it for 3 months and feel horrible for being myself. I'm kind of done with that. If you don't like me, please click off - don't be a vulture. If you like my blog, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for sticking with me. The past year has been hectic, and I'm glad you supported me.

I hope you'll stay around for NFR 2.0. :)
-Ž.
