Lush Lemony Flutter

As I told you in my first video, I actually interviewed at Lush a while ago. Unfortunately, I didn't end up getting the job, but the interview reminded me of how much I loved their products and that I really needed to start using them up. I've had this Lemony Flutter for a few months now, and just recently started giving it the love it deserves.

Lemony Flutter is a product for dry skin, mainly targeted at cuticles. I've noticed that this is a favourite of many beauty and nail polish bloggers and I totally understand why! The main thing it does is make your skin super soft, so besides using it on my cuticles, I also quite like applying it to other dry areas, like my elbows. As far as treating wounds goes (hangnails etc.), I haven't noticed a difference while using this, but then again, it's not intended for that. But it is very successful in softening the skin around my nails, so it would also be perfect if you want to remove your cuticles, as it will be a lot easier to do so. Personally I just leave mine alone (apart from biting them on occasion, oopsa-daisy), and find that this still serves a purpose. I also use it just like a regular hand cream and it makes my hands super soft and really moisturized. For a more intensive treatment, you could also apply it overnight with a pair of gloves over, and I'm sure your skin will be nice and supple. And of course, I'm not going to end this review without telling you what this smells like! It's a true lemon scent, so it will be perfect for you if you like fresh citrusy fragrances, and this one is definitely strongly scented.

Lush Lemony Flutter costs around 10€ and can be bought in Lush stores worldwide.

Rebels & Plums

I wanted to talk about the two lipsticks I mentioned in my Fall Must-Haves in more detail. They are both by MAC and are in the shades Rebel and Plumful.

Let's start with Rebel. It is a Satin finish, first of all. The color is something between a pink and a red and quite blue toned. It looks pretty scary in the tube, but it's actually not a vampy color at all, it's a nice and vibrant reddish pink. It is a statement color nonetheless and I think it would look good on pretty much anyone. The only problem I have with this one is the fact that it ALWAYS ends up on my teeth (not painting a pretty picture here, am I?), it has gotten to the point where I don't even want to wear it, even though it's one of my favourite colors. So while I love this one for what it is, I'm still on the hunt for a darker burgundy/purple version.

Next up is Plumful, a Lustre finish. I love this one for everyday in the fall, it's my go-to color. The toned down dusky pink with plum notes is absolutely gorgeous, and I also love the fact that it doesn't have any shimmer in it. It's super creamy and a really nice formula. Unfortunately it doesn't really flatter my skintone in my opinion, but I still love it and intend on wearing it a lot. It's a really easy-to-wear shade as it doesn't require a lip liner and you can just slap it on and be ready to go!

MAC lipstick prices vary around the globe, and you can get them online (if they deliver to your country) or in stores worldwide.

Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm

Today I'm featuring another cult product. This Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm is super popular both on Youtube and in the blogging community. Besides, it's been recommended to me countless times, and I finally decided to get it as a treat for my brithday, as it is quite expensive for a lip balm (around 10€).

I have to say my expectations were high, but the product exceeded them! It truly is a miracle worker. I am a lip biter, which is a terrible habit I've been trying to get rid of for years with no luck. My lips are always dry, chapped and peeling and it really doesn't look too attractive. Enter the Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm. With its scent of fresh lemons and sweet honey, it's a treat for your nose as well! It really works wonders on lips and applied overnight, heals them in hours. I used to be a huge fan of Blistex, but this is my new favourite. My lips were cracked open in the middle and bleeding (sorry for the disgusting visual) and this fixed them in a couple of days, when usually, it would take weeks. I also really enjoy the scent, which makes the experience of using this product even more pleasant. The only downside to this is that I don't really like it as a primer for lipstick - it's too thick and the lipstick doesn't stay on the lips if I apply this beforehand. Another minus would be the pot form. The product actually does come in a stick as well, but the nice lady at the pharmacy explained to me that it wasn't as potent and that I should really get this one rather than the stick version. But other than that, definitely a stellar product perfect for those who suffer with dry lips!

Home is Where the Heart is: Gifts & Pieces Wishlist

I am a long-time follower of Abby's blog here, and let me just say, she is one talented lady. Beside offering blog design, she also owns a store of interior decorations and homeware, which I have fallen in love with completely. Above is my wishlist from her beautiful store, full of things that I think would look beautiful in my room and would love to own someday! In fact, if I hadn't spent all my money like there was no tomorrow, I would probably be placing a cheeky order at this very moments. As it is, I'll have to wait a couple of weeks before I buy anything, but it's safe to say these items will sooner or later end up in my bedroom!

Burt's Bees Deep Pore Scrub

As I mentioned yesterday, I got to try two products from Ecco Verde. One of them I reviewed yesterday, and the second one will be the center of today's post. It is Burt's Bees Peach & Willowbark Deep Pore Scrub, another natural product!

Burt's Bees is another brand I've had my eye on for a while now, and this seemed like the perfect product for me as I love scrubbing my pores, teehee. The first thing I noticed with this product, as with most things I use, was, of course, the smell! It's definitely very strong and I can definitely smell the peach in there. I like the scent quite a lot, it's a bit unusual, but pleasant. Now on to the product. I would strongly recommend to use this if your skin isn't sensitive. If you have sensitive skin, you can find loads of other, gentler scrubs on Ecco Verde's site. This one is really more suited to people with oily/combination skin like myself, who suffer from enlarged pores. After using it for about two weeks, I can say that it definitely does help get rid of all the gunk in my pores. While they are still enlarged (not much I can do about that), they are definitely cleaner. I have to say that since I've been using this product and the Antipodes mask, my skin has truly been looking good and I am super pleased with it! Just don't expect your pores to disappear when you're using products like this one, because miracles won't happen - but your pores will be way cleaner and you'll get rid of all the buildup caused by makeup and other products.

Slovenian readers can buy it here, and international ones click here.

Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask

I have wanted to try Antipodes for I don't know how long, and I finally got the chance thanks to Ecco Verde! Thank you so much for this opportunity, I am thoroughly enjoying using this product.

The Aura Manuka Honey Mask is a bit of a cult product, though I wasn't quite sure what to expect from it. I opened it to reveal an absolutely intoxicating honey scent with a hint of vanilla. This product comes out like a thick cream, and the directions say to apply it quite thickly. I did exactly that, left it on for 20 minutes, and then rinsed with warm water. While it was on my face, most of it actually got absorbed in my skin and confirmed my expectations, as it really seems like a thicker moisturizer. When I rinsed it off, my skin was softer than it has probably been since I started having problems with it, and absolutely radiant. I love it! No face mask has had such an effect on my skin in EVER, and even Tilen said my skin felt softer (possibly because I forced him to feel it numerous times, but that is beside the point). So if you're in need of a pamper, definitely & strongly recommend this amazing mask, which is, on top of everything, natural! A bit about the ingredients - Antipodes is a New Zealand brand, and apparently, Manuka honey is a traditional Maori remedy. It says that it is also a great antioxidant!

If you're interest in this mask, Slovenian readers can get it here, while international readers should visit this site.

Devil water

Today I will be talking about Melvita's Floral Water. Scared off by the title, were you? There's actually a pretty funny anecdote behind it. As I am so in love with this product, I may have been a bit too enhtusiastic about it and may or may not have sprayed it on Tilen as well. He was not pleased and proclaimed that this (amazing) product shall be known as Devil water from then on. And so it shall be.

I used this a lot while I was on holiday, maybe I could even say I've been neglecting it a bit since I got home, but it will definitely be getting more attention soon! It's a scented floral water and they have a few different ones, personally I really like this one the most, it's the Orange Blossom scent and is supposed to soften and soothe the skin. I can definitely atest to that, as it truly made my skin calm down after exposure to the sun. I also love using it to refresh my face when my makeup is looking a bit caked on. Also great as a makeup fixator - it actually works (I was very doubtful about this) and fixes all of my makeup in place, making it stay there all day, and I don't even need a powder anymore. The spray bottle is also super nice, because it's really easy to use.

I also included the Eau Extraordinaire in this post, because at the time I bought this, Melvita was running a promotion where you could get it cheaper. I use it mostly as a toner, as it's a lot more concentrated, and it actually removes the last traces of my makeup as well (I would not advise using it solely for that purpose, though). All in all a nice product, though I probably would not repurchase it, while the Floral Water has become a must-have in my skincare bag!

In case you're confused or trying to find these, they now come in different packaging! The bottle is the same, but the label is now blue and pink. Just a disclaimer in case you want to find these products in store or online. Here is the Slovenian site. They're always running great promotions! By the way, Melvita is a natural & organic skincare brand, and they also stock perfumes, teas and loads more - I would absolutely recommend a visit to the store.
