Garnier Ultimate Beauty Oil - Skin Perfector

Whenever I'm in the sun, the skin on my body becomes extremely dry and I've found the perfect product to combat that. Besides the obvious after sun lotions and gels, I've also really been loving this Garnier Body Oil. First of all, it smells absolutely divine with hints of roses and nuts, really exotic and special. For some reason I want to describe the scent as velvety, as I feel like that is the perfect word for it. It's a dry oil, so it absorbs very very quickly and doesn't leave your skin oily at all, but it does give it a really nice sheen. While this is a great summer product, I also think it will shine in the colder months, when my skin is pretty dry as well. It costs around 6€ in DM in Slovenia and around 9€ on FeelUnique, if you're an international shopper. I would definitely recommend it.

My most used blushers

I, the crazy blusher lady, rarely hit pan on a blusher. Having so many, I rotate them heavily and many of them do not get the love they deserve. However, there are a few in my collection that I have been using like crazy. They are, unsuprisingly, all pinks in varying tones and amounts of shimmer/glitter. My favourites include Sleek Pixie Pink (great value as it's really inexpensive), Illamasqua Sob (a cream blusher which I absolutely adore), Illamasqua Morale (from a few years back, not sure if it's still available - sorry :( ), Stila XOXO palette (you can get the Love palette this year) and two MAC favourites, Well Dressed & Dame.

Coincidentally, it is also my birthday today. *happy dance* I hope your day will be just as lovely as mine. <3

A love letter to Lavera Cleansing Gels

I've been loving Lavera lately, namely their face cleansing gels. I used to be one of those people who only used face wipes (awful, I know!), and it's just in the past year that I've started using something to properly remove my makeup as well as cleanse my skin. I cannot tell you how big of a difference that has made to my skin - it's really noticeable! These two products are really faintly scented, but they still smell very pleasant and herbal. The one on the left is for sensitive skin, while the right one is for combination and oily skin, and I would definitely recommend both. According to Lavera's website, they both use organic plant extracts, like Ginkgo & Grape, and Melissa & Mallow. They're great for removing leftovers of makeup (I've even used them both for removing my face makeup, but I would steer clear of the eyes if I were you), and you won't even need a toner with these. They don't make your skin feel tight at all, which is great. Really great products, and the price tag is around 7€ for each.

Grumpy cow.

Don't worry, I'm not calling you names (though if there is a grumpy cow around here, I know who she is *cough* IT'S ME *cough*)! Grumpy Cow is a line of products by Cowshed, which is a lovely cruelty-free brand of bodycare which, on top of everything else, does not contain parabens, sulphates or artificial coloring.

I received the Uplifting Body Lotion* for review, and I am smitten with it. First of all, this stuff smells divine. It has essential oils of red mandarin, petitgrain and grapefruit. After a quick Google session, I can confirm that petitgrain is a citrus like the rest of the ingredients, namely bitter orange oil. The scent is truly very citrus-y and so very fresh as well, which really does make it uplifting. I've been using this on an everyday basis and I find it really moisturizing and calming - my skin has been really dry because of exposure to the sun and I've been slathering this on like crazy to prevent the wretched peeling. I must say it's been working like a treat and I've really been enjoying using it, especially the scent. It comes in a handy packaging from which you just squeeze out the product. I also really like the design of the bottle and am now very curious to try more products by this brand!

International readers, this is available on FeelUnique for 18€ (currently on sale). For my lovely Slovenian readers (not that the international ones aren't lovely, you ARE, so no fighting!), I just saw the loveliest display of Cowshed in Müller, so head there if you'd like to buy them.

*Product was sent to me for review.

Magazine Freebie: Elle Slovenia & Moroccanoil

Sorry guys, today's post is in Slovenian, since this offer is only available here!

Okej, no. Malo.

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24h Eyeshadow in On and on Bronze

I'm finally back from my vacation, which was lovely apart from being eaten alive by mosquitoes - I swear I have 25 bites on my legs alone. Unfortunately, I really could not post at the seaside, which is such a shame, because there were some lovely sites to take photos - all of them inhabited by avid sea-goers, which made it next to impossible to take nice pictures. Well, I will try to make it up to you by posting more now, even though I have to study like crazy for finals which begin in a weeks' time.

Today I wanted to talk about these Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows, which are new to me, but have been around for a while now. I picked one up on a whim in my local drugstore and I am in love. I got the shade On and on Bronze, which seems to be quite popular on the internet. It really is a true bronze, a beautiful color even for me, and I normally don't even like bronze tones. It can be used as a base or by itself - I prefer using it by itself as it's such a beautiful color. It lasts like no other, seriously, that claim about it being 24h might be just right! I didn't even need a primer with this one and my eyelids just love to crease especially in the hot and humid summer time. However, not a smudge in sight with this one. And the best part? It costs the bargainous amount of 5€! Absolutely amazing for such a product and I would strongly recommend it even for going into autumn. I for one will definitely be picking up a couple more shades!

Sun protection for your face

Aloha! I'm not in Hawaii. Sadly. But I am at the seaside, and I just started learning about the benefits of sun protection. I was good the first few days and wore it, but then I was lazy yesterday and decided I'd be okay without it. Big mistake Živa, big mistake. I burnt terribly and now I look like a lobster. In case you don't want to repeat my mistake, which you really shouldn't, I'll be showing you a few of the sun protection products I'm using on this vacation. Today I'll be talking about sun protection for the face.
When I get ready, I love using the Vichy Capital Soleil SPF 50 Mattifying Face Fluid. This was, again, recommended to me by Isa, which automatically means I have to buy it, because I know it will be an amazing product if she likes it. It really is great, especially for oily and combination skin, because it mattifies your skin and you won't even need a powder. The high SPF also means the best protection for your face and I guarantee you won't burn while using this. Another product I'm really loving at the moment is the REN Photoactive Sun Veil with SPF 15*, which was sent to me for review. This feels super light on the skin, but the lower SPF means you have to reapply it every hour or so. I do love the moisturizing ability it has, it also really refreshes my skin and I didn't burn it while using this, either. It would be an ideal product if you're spending your summer in the city, and it's also great if you've already built up a base tan, to further protect your face. I've been carrying this in my beach bag everyday, because it feels so light on the skin - the Vichy product is great for use in the morning, then I follow up with the REN moisturizer throughout the day.
I'm sorry I haven't been posting as much these days, but I'm finding it super hard to find places to take photographs (yours truly nearly broke her back while trying to take the above pic). The beach is packed! But hopefully I'll be back yesterday with another summer themed post.

Which summer related posts would you like to see?
