New arm candy

Everything from Asos.com

I've wanted some arm candy for ages now, and I finally got some! I'm not really someone who regularly wears jewelry, so this is pretty weird for me, but I fell in love seeing all these photos of people's blinged out wrists and really wanted to join the club. Let me tell you, all of this is HEAVY! It weighs my wrist down a lot, but I just love the look I get.

I'll be doing separate posts on the watch and the Disney Couture bracelet, both of which I adore. Until then - au revoir! :)

FeelUnique Wishlist!

Behold my wishlist from FeelUnique! (It's actually quite a bit longer, but these are the items I think I'll be purchasing when I get my next pay check.)

Benefit Boi-ing Concealer - Because I currently use a very beaten-up concealer from Essence, which cost me a whooping 2€ and I haven't had a nice quality concealer in ever.

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector - Because everyone raves about them and I fear I might go out of my mind if I don't check for myself what all the fuss is about.

YSL Volupte Sheer Candy Lipstick - Because I've been lusting after it ever since I saw it on Ana's blog. I want the shade Luscious Cherry, which is a gorgeous glossy red.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir - Because I NEED IT. My precioussss! It can be used as a toner, to refresh your skin or as a setting spray for your makeup, if you feel like it's a bit caked on and you want to get a bit of a glow.

John Masters Organics Citrus and Neroli Detangler - Because my hair has been behaving badly lately and it has been extra tangled, so I really need something to make it stay silky and smooth.

Konjac Sponge with Bamboo Charcoal - Because this is the coolest thing I've seen. Ever. I don't even know how to use it properly, BUT IT MUST BE MINE!!!!!1

John Masters Organics Sea Mist - Because I've always wanted to try a sea salt spray since I'm too lazy/clumsy to make it by myself, even though it's, apparently, really easy and everyone and their mother is doing it.

Stila Kajal Eyeliner  - Because I seriously need a new flesh (God, that sounds scary) coloured eyeliner for using on my waterline - it really opens up my eyes and brightens my whole face. I do have Benefit's Eye Bright, but the poor little thing is truly on its last leg - the cap is broken and it's due a good sharpen. Apparently I'll buy a new eyeliner before I get around to actually getting a pencil sharpener, sigh, so typical...

Korres Pommegranate Lip Butter - Because these look beautiful and I'm always looking for a good tinted lip balm.

For some reason I feel like speaking with a pirate accent, so I'll leave you with the following: Keep an eye out for me booty (haul, not... ahem) after the 15th, arrrrrrrr!

A dupe for Bioderma H20?

Who hasn't heard about the Bioderma H20 Micellar Cleansing Water? It's been popping up in favourites in blog posts and in Youtube videos all over, and I'm sure it's one of the most hyped up products ever. I myself haven't tried it yet, though I plan to, but I think I found a cheaper dupe for it nonetheless. :)

Introducing the Yves Rocher Micellar Cleansing Water. I've written about this before in a haul post, but now I've had the time to really try it out and see what it's like. And can I just say - this product is AMAZING. It can be used as a makeup remover or as a toner, I personally use it for removing my makeup in the evening, but it also feels really nice on my skin, just like a toner would.

Another thing I love about this product is the lovely scent - it's very very fresh and inoffensive, perfect for those who dislike stronger scents. I honestly think everyone would like this. This cleansing water won't irritate your skin, guaranteed. It's so gentle that it will calm even the most sensitive skin. It removes my makeup completely (BB cream, blusher, eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner) and calms my skin down as well as gets it ready for application of my nightcream.

I've seen this compared with the Bioderma on Makeupalley, so I thought it would be great to let you know that there is a cheaper alternative out there!

While Bioderma costs anywhere from 17 to 25€, you can get this for around 7€ in Slovenia, and for around 13€ in the UK. Definitely one to try, and this is truly an amazing product that should work for any skin type!

Essence Iced Latte & Essence Make it Golden

Today I have two nail polishes to show you. I started of with Essence Iced Latte as a base (2 coats), then I applied Essence Make it Golden on the tips. Isn't it pretty? I painted my nails a little messily, so I hope you forgive me for that! <3

This mani was inspired by Ina. <3

Summer tries the gradient manicure (and fails?)

So this nail trend has been everywhere lately and I just had to give it a try. Lately I've been loving the combination of red and pink (ever since I saw Blair Waldorf pair them in GG), so for this manicure, I combined OPI's If you moust, you moust with OPI's Dutch tulips.

What do you think? Does it look nice or did I fail miserably? I think it looks okay, but I definitely need some practice. And I seriously need to get a brush to clean up my nails when I'm done painting them.

If you're wondering how to do the gradient mani, I followed this tutorial by Nihrida, an amazing fellow Slovenian blogger, whose blog I just adore.

And I was inspired to try this manicure by an amazing blogger, Ivana, whose blog you can find here. Check out her gradient manicures and let her know how beautiful they are. She is not only a great blogger, but also super sweet and really nice. <3

Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia

I promised you a review of Giorgio Armani's Acqua di Gioia fragrance for women. I have been coveting this perfume since it came out in March 2010, and when Cheap Smells had a sale including a 50 ml bottle of it, I just had to get it.

Acqua di Gioia is a beautiful summery fragrance, perfect for the hot weather we've been having. The scent is light and refreshing, great for cooling down.

The weird thing with this perfume is, I actually smell a note that's not even in it! The watermelon scent is really strong for me... Strange.

The perfume opens with strong top notes of Amalfi lemon and mint, which is a very refreshing combination, reminding me of a cold glass of lemonade, topped with mint leaves and a bunch of ice cubes. Then come the middle notes of jasmine, pink pepper and peony. You all know I love my white florals, and this is a beautiful and quite different mix, as it doesn't include the usual gardenia and tuberose, which are the most used white florals in perfumes. The pink pepper adds a tangy note to the whole concoction. And finally, we have the base notes of cedar, sugar and labdanum. The sugar is really strong here and I absolutely love the combination of sugar and citrus scents. I've discovered that that is definitely my favourite combination, sweet and citrus notes work amazingly well together!

The bottle of the perfume is described as very natural and reminiscent of a rain drop, with which I definitely agree. I love the simple bottle and it is really perfect for the scent that is contained inside.

All in all, Acqua di Gioia is a beautiful summer perfume with strong citrus and sugar notes. It's a scent that isn't difficult to like, so I think anyone would love it. Perfect if you need to buy a gift for someone, as the person you get it for is almost sure to adore it.

OPI If you moust, you moust

I finally have a new mani to show you guys! Did you miss seeing my nail polish swatches? My nails have been terrible lately, they're always breaking, so I have to keep them quite short as you can see in the photos. But I haven't done a nail polish post in ages, and I've been wearing this polish all the time, so I really wanted to show you guys what it looks like!

OPI If you moust, you moust is from the Minnie Mouse collection by OPI. It is by far my favourite colour in the collection. The colour is a gorgeous soft hot pink that is opaque with 1-2 coats (I applied 2 for the sake of the photos, but I've gotten away with wearing just one on an everyday basis!) It has no glitter or shimmer whatsoever, but it's very shiny. I love it!

The only problem I have with this polish is the fact that the tips of the nails stay visible even after two coats. It does bother me a little, but I just chose to ignore it since I love the colour so much!

And now I really want to get Nothin' Mouse 'bout it to add as an accent nail (it's a polish with tiny hearts in it and it would look super cute with this manicure!)

July beauty wishlist

My beauty wishlist is always growing, so today I decided to share with you a few items I'm lusting after this month.

1. Revlon Lip Butter - Everyone in the beauty community has been going crazy for these, and they don't have them for sale in Slovenia, so annoying. I think I'm just going to cave in and order some on Ebay, because I want to try them so badly. Which shades do you recommend?

2. Macadamia Healing Oil Spray - I really want to try this brand and I'm always looking for a new miracle product to help my hair.

3. Jessica Simpson Fancy Love Perfume - I adore the original Fancy and I get so many compliments on it, I really want to try her second flanker in the line. Fancy Love has notes of champagne, peach blossom and amber and is supposed to resemble peaches and cream - yum!

4. Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blushes - Another great product that just won't make it all the way overseas, so I guess I'll have to rely on good ol' Ebay again! These blushes have a really unique texture and there are some amazing shades to choose from.

5. Moroccanoil - This is supposedly a miracle hair treatment that I'm desperate to try, as my hair has been very dry lately.

What's on your beauty wishlist this month? Let me know in the comments! x

Essie Van d'Go

As you may have noticed, I'm all about the pastels this spring! I love the gorgeous soft colours for this time of the year, and I've even started to add colours like this to my wardrobe, which, for someone who only used to wear black, is a big deal.

Essie's Van d'Go is a beautiful salmon peachy pink shade which needs 2-3 coats for perfect opacity. However I do think it's completely worh it as it looks absolutely beautiful! I do have to say that my bottle is getting a little goopy, but that may be due to the fact that I've had it for about two years now.

Last time I wore this ring in a photo, someone asked me if it was an engagement ring. I can't tell you how hard I laughed at that one. Just to reassure you, it is NOT. Most of the time I feel like I'm still 14, so I don't see getting engaged anywhere in the near future! :)

2012 wishlist

I've decided to start posting more wishlists, it's a great way to keep track of my purchases and make sure I really get the items I want and not spend randomly (a bad habit I need to get rid of).

One of my NY resolutions is to start buying less things, and buy pieces that are better in quality. With that in mind, I put together a wishlist of the things I'm coveting in 2012 :)

1 - Alexander McQueen Skull Scarf in white and black
One of the items I've wanted for the longest time is this beautiful silk scarf with a skull print. I think it's a classic and I already have a ton of combinations in mind that I could wear it with. It's absolutely gorgeous, but at 275€, I think I'll be saving up for it for the better part of the year :(

2. Tory Burch Reva Nappa Ballet Flats
I've recently discovered Tory Burch flats and fell in love instanly. Aren't they the most gorgeous flats you've ever seen? I love the beautiful silver detail on the front, and they're leather, so really great quality. I'm pretty sure they would look amazing with any outfit, I'm just deciding betwen the gold or silver colour - both are gorgeous!

3. Ray Ban Wayfarer sunglasses
Another classic in my opinion, these sunglasses are a must-have for any closet. I think they really flatter any face shape and look good on everyone! These sunglasses have been on my wishlist for five years now, so it really is about time I get them :)

4. American Apparel 3-D Flower Mesh Jumper
This is an absolutely beautiful jumper. It would look amazing with a pleated skirt. At 88€ it's quite pricey, but I imagine the quality is amazing and it really is a statement piece that would totally compliment my wardrobe and style. Can't wait to get my hands on it! I would love it if you helped me decide - which colour should I get? You can look at all of the options here. I'm leaning towards the dusky pink one! :)

5. Rose gold watch
I haven't decided on a model or brand yet, but a rose gold watch is definitely something I want in 2012. I absolutely love the unique colour and I'd love to try mixing metals, a trend I've been afraid of up until now.

6. Chanel Coco Mademoiselle perfume
A classic scent for a young lady. Even though I love bargain perfumes,  I would love to try a higher end one, and this is at the top of my list.

7. Alexander Wang Rocco bag
This is more of a fantasy item, since I probably won't be able to afford this baby, but at least I can stare at it now :) I think the Rocco bag is absolutely gorgeous, but I just can't force myself to get the fake version - I want the real thing!

I hope you enjoyed reading about my wishlist for 2012, and I'll be sure to update you on all of the things I end up getting! What is on your wishlist for 2012? I would love to know! :)

Favourite nailpolishes of 2011

In my 2011 favourites, I did mention a few of my favourite nailpolishes from the year, but then I thought to myself that well, that just won't do! I consider myself a nailpolish junkie so briefly mentioning a couple of shades is NOT enough! I need to do a whole post on them. :)

I'm also posting this because I have a lot of new followers who hadn't been following my older blog, so you probably haven't seen all of my posts over there. There are some I'm actually quite proud of, so I decided to share some of the photos with you.

So, here they are, my favourite nailpolishes of 2011!

1. Orly Pure Porcelain
A beautiful nude shade, opaque with 2 coats. This nailpolish is really good quality and it is, in my opinion, the perfect nude!

2. OPI Tickle my France-y
Another one of my favourite nudes, this one is a bit darker than the previous one. I love the colour, it's sort of taupe/pink, really pretty. This is pretty sheer, I have to use 3-4 coats because I don't like my nailtips to be visible.

3. Orly Lollipop
A gorgeous lilac-y polish, perfect for spring in my opinion. Yes, I'm already preparing for spring, even though it's only January, haha. You can use only 1 coat if you're careful with application.

4. OPI Done out in deco
This is more grey in real life than on photos, really unique shade. Something between lavender and grey colour. 2 coats.

5. China Glaze Spontaneous
A gorgeous violet shade. Opaque with one coat if you apply it carefully.

6. Orly Bubbly Bombshell
Amazing purple glitter nailpolish, so in love with this! I had to apply 2-3 coats for perfect opacity. For removing glitters, I recommend the foil method. Here is a really great how-to by an amazing fellow blogger, Nihrida.

7. OPI Mod about you
My favourite nailpolish of all time, I'm sure you can see why. <3 It's the most perfect baby pink. I will admit that it's a nightmare to apply, it's soooo streaky. I used 3 coats.

8. Orly Everything's rosy
My go-to polish for everyday, I wear this all the time. It's the perfect dusky rose colour that just goes with everything. 1 coat if you're careful.

9. OPI Elephantastic Pink
Amazing bright pink colour, perfect for summer. 2 coats.

10. Orly Fancy Fuchsia
This is AMAZING, the perfect Barbie pink colour. It's almost neon, it's so bright. 1 coat if you're careful.

11. Essie Borrowed & Blue
I adore this colour, but everyone else hates it, haha. My dear mother's comment when she saw it on my nails was, 'Do you have the plague?' Lovely. It's a beautiful baby blue. Opaque with 2 coats.

And here is my favourite manicure from 2011, I did this ruffian in April and I'm still in love with it. Silver glitter and navy look so pretty together, like a starry night. <3

Looking over this post, I have to say the winning nailpolishes of the year are definitely from Orly. If you had asked me last year, I would've said OPI for sure, but Orly takes the cake this time. Their polishes are amazing quality, almost all are opaque with just one coat and they last a long time, too. But I do wish they were a little bit more creative with their names. :)

What were your favourite polishes in 2011?

Zlatarna Celje I like my name necklace

When I started this blog, I posted a link to it on my older one, telling people that my posts had moved to a new address. I was actually a bit upset that so few of my old followers decided to follow my new blog. Out of 365 people, only about 35 followed this blog. :(

But in the last few days, I have gotten soooooooooooo many new followers, and so many lovely comments from all of you, I was completely amazed. You guys are so sweet, every single comment and follower really makes my day better, and that means a lot because I've had quite a bad start to 2012. I just wanted to take a moment and thank everyone who's a reader of my blog. It means the world to me that you read my ramblings. <3

Phew, getting emotional! Moving on to the post...

Like every other girl on the planet, I've always wanted a name necklace. I've been on the hunt for a few years now and they've proven to be very hard to find, until a local jeweler started making them. This year I must have been really good, because Santa surprised me with one for Christmas. :)

And no, my name is not Summer, it's Živa. Pronounced Zhee-va. I don't like it very much and it's hard to spell for foreigners, so for the purposes of this blog, I will be using the name Summer. There, now you've learned something new about me. And it's nice to meet you too. ^^ *waves*

It comes packaged in a carton box, I do wish the packaging was a bit classier. It's sterling silver and has a dainty little chain that is quite short, but that's the way I like to wear this necklace.

I think it's absolutely beautiful, and exactly as I wanted it to be. The necklace sparkles beautifully and I have gotten compliments about it every single time I've worn it, and that's a lot! :)

Up until recently, these necklaces were super hard to find here in Slovenia, but a while ago Zlatarna Celje made a program on their website that lets you design and order a name necklace. You can check out the program here

I would definitely recommend these necklaces, they're very nice quality and look good worn with anything. The only problem is, I now want a gold one as well... It's an addiction, I tell you! :)

Top 11 items of 2011

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! :) I hope everyone had a great one!

A new year, a new blog. :) My old account was giving me so much trouble, I finally got fed up and decided to set up a new one. I've decided to make my blog more about fashion (ironically the first post is about makeup, of course) and show you some of my outfits and my favourite pieces in my wardrobe. That's what's coming up! :)

But today I wanted to talk about my favourite makeup, hair and perfume items that I discovered in 2011. Because I'm me, I of course forgot to include nail polish, but if anyone wants to know, my favourite nailpolishes of 2011 are Orly's Fancy Fuchsia, Orly's Pure Porcelain and OPI's Mod About You. Now let's get started!

I got quite a few things from MAC this year, and these were my favourites.

First up is Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle. This is a beautiful highlighter in a soft bronze colour with peachy undertones. It's soooooo pretty! I love the sheen it gives to my face. I apply it on the top of my cheekbones and on my browbone.

Next we have MAC's Mineralize Skinfinish Natural, which as you can see, I have completely used up. This is hands down the BEST pressed powder I've ever tried, I'm completely amazed by it. Applied alone or over liquid foundation, it gives a beautiful flawless finish.

And now for my hair favourites.

John Frieda's Luxurious Volume Mousse has been my companion for the better part of the year, until I finally layed off it in the past two months, because I missed my natural soft hair. However, this is still an amazing product that I would recommend to anyone. It gives such amazing volume to my hair and makes it stay in place all day, amazing!

The Compact Tangle Teezer is the best invention of mankind, seriously. I got this in the summer and have used it every single day since then. I have really long hair that tends to get terrible knots in it, and this got rid of all of them without hurting me. It's also perfect to carry around in your bag and fits perfectly in the palm of my hand.

For mascara, I can't rave enough about Maybelline's The Falsies. AMAZING!! I have naturally long eyelashes, but they're very fair, and this gives them the black colour and fullnes I want. I have been asked sooooo many times if I'm wearing false lashes, I've stopped counting. And all the thanks goes to this baby <3

Another product I got in the summer is Benefit's Eye Bright. When I was younger, I always used to wear black eyeliner on my waterline - trust me, NOT  a good look for me. Because I have small eyes, they looked even smaller with black eyeliner on. That's why I decided to try a lighter colour and this shade is absolutely perfect. It makes my eyes look so wide and pretty, I've been using it almost every day.

My absolute favourite product that I discovered in 2011 would have to be Skin 79's BB Cream. Amazing. No, but seriously, A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. It costs around 10€ and I get it on Ebay, it takes about 3 weeks to arrive which is a nightmare, there's only one shade so it wouldn't suit darker skin. That's the bad stuff, now can I tell you how great this is? It has SPF, which is why it's perfect for summer, it's like a tinted moisturizer but with better coverage and it gives a really beautiful dewy finish (if you don't like that, just use MAC's Mineralize Skinfinish Natural over it and you're set). Seriously great product, and I think everyone should try it.

For lips, I've been faithful to my Dior Addict lipstick. This line is sooooo good, the lipsticks are very moisturizing and there are some great shades. I also love the gorgeous packaging. If you don't want to shell out the money for it (and I do admit, it's quite expensive), a great dupe are the Revlon Lip Butters (which I'm still trying to get my hands on, so jealous of all you USA people).

My favourite blush this year has been MAC's Well Dressed. It's the most perfect blush for any occasion, a pretty baby pink with silver specks. It gives the perfect rosy glow. Definitely a must have.

One of the first perfumes I got last year was Burberry's Brit. It was sort-of-but-not-really a blind buy, because I had only smelled it once about two years ago, and I only vaguely remember liking it. (I bought it together with Lolita Lempicka's signature fragrance, which was a STINKER, I tried wearing it and was almost disgusted, I honestly don't get how some people love it so much!) At first I was actually disappointed in this perfume, but I love it more each day I have it. It smells of tonka bean, lime and almonds, mmmmm. So delicious. Perfect for early spring or fall, in my opinion. Makes me feel so cozy and comfortable :)

In the summer, my favourite perfume was J.Lo's Deseo. Yes, J.Lo. Are you judging? DON'T!! It's absolutely amazing. It literally smells like summer to me. Like walking into an exotic garden where there are fresh clothes drying on the line (that would be weird, but that's the best way to describe it). Kind of soapy and fruity at the same time.

That's it for my 2011 favourites! What are some of your favourite finds in 2011? Please let me know in the comments :)
